The Ebrington Hotel

Had a business dinner at The Ebrington Hotel this week. The food was fabulous, the service was excellent and the hotel was beautiful. I will definitely be back. It was very good value for money for the quality of food and staff attention. 5 Stars from me!

Our best hotel visit in Ireland! This was our 4th hotel in 5 all across the country and can't say enough about the staff! The restaurant staff each morning were so great I need to give shout outs to Sharon and Neil! Sorry I can't remember the name of the brown haired lady who sat us each morning but unbelievable service! When ordering an earl grey tea to go, Sharon told me about her favourite kind and the very next day, she delivered 2 boxes of her favourite kind to me... so that meant on her own time, she went to her local market to bring me this tea ❤️ that is forever a great memory for me of Derry...Thank you Sharon! The food was absolutely incredible at this restaurant and was so nice to have great live entertainment on the 14th too... great job to the owners of this newer hotel.... shout out to Laura my massage therapist who was a wealth of information about the area... thank you! Any cons would be to lessen their hotel scent in the main lobby... a super strong scent that was often too strong for the palate even... Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to this area!

Lovely stay, few issues upon check in with room not having a bath, but when voiced concern..duty manager Mash couldn't have been more helpful. Escorted to new room, helped with bags, excellent service. Restaurant staff so friendly, helpful and efficient. Lovely treatment, pool quite small and not alot of relaxation beds so get down early! Big shout out to singer in the bar on 14th June.. excellent range of songs for entertaining!

Absolutely loved this hotel. The decor, rooms, location, staff and food. The beds were so comfortable and it is really quiet at night as their is no traffic. We had a Riverviiew which was wonderful looking over the Peace Bridge and city. We had the three course meal which was outstanding and the staff were excellent and couldn’t do enough for us. The location was ideal as you were in the city centre in a few minutes. There was a good buzz in the city with great music. The breakfast was high quality and very enjoyable. Thanks to all of the hardworking staff. We had a wonderful experience.

To say that we were disappointed is an understatement . We booked for a celebration meal . Staff had very poor English and hadn't a clue about anything that we asked for . We didn't eat our food as it was disgusting . We weren't asked why we didn't eat it , I honestly don't believe a chef sent that quality of food out of his/her kitchen . The chips were frozen chips and the garlic potatoes were frozen chips too , so hard that they couldn't absorb the butter , it was at the bottom of the bowl . Got 2 fish bones in my chowder . The child meals were goujons and they were hard and burnt . We cancelled the desserts as we had had enough disappointment . Still charged for them . Had to go back and get that sorted . We left and went into the bar, at least a 25 minute wait to get served , one barman doing it all . It was worse than faulty towers , Manuel was doing everything ,probably the cooking , cleaning and general dogsbody . It was shocking . I can highly recommend not to eat here .

Hotel really nice and in a good location near the Peace Bridge. Easy to get into Derry and walk the walls. Room excellent and spa really good - with a great pool, sauna and steam room. Thanks as well to Diane who helped post an electric toothbrush that I'd left behind. If you are going to Derry I'd highly recommend the hotel.

I recently stayed at what could have been an exceptional hotel, given the beautifully furnished rooms featuring high-quality beds, lounges, and amenities. The interior design and comfort level of the accommodations were truly outstanding, making it a haven for relaxation. However, the hotel’s management and overall service were a complete joke. Despite being out for six hours in the morning and returning in the mid-afternoon, we found our room still unmade. Dont expect reception to ever answer the phone, you have to go there! When we inquired about this, we were told that our room wasn't a priority since we were staying for two nights, with check-out rooms taking precedence. the housekeepers came to explain that they are severely understaffed and this was the main problem,. but how the poor management and lack of finding staff relates to being ok for poor service standards is quite unbelievable! Moreover, we had issues with the air conditioning. Reporting it to reception seemed to make matters worse, as the problem intensified after their supposed intervention. The kitchenette in our room was also a farce, lacking basic essentials like plates, bowls, and glasses, but fully stocked in cutlery lol. Breakfast was included with a buffet and some menu options. With the promise someone would return to take our order, no one bothered to return, and that wasn’t just us, several guests were talking about this incompetence in the lobby. In summary, while the rooms themselves are amazing and well-appointed (except the kitchenette), the place has huge potential, offering so much potential, the hotel's management and service are severely lacking, making the overall experience frustrating and disappointing. I could not recommend this place based on our experience.

My family surprised me with a 2-night stay we had a fantastic experience from start to finish, from complimentary prosecco from Laura in the Spa Complex before my treatment, beautiful food/cocktails, the spa, spacious rooms to a birthday dessert in the restaurant. Staff are so friendly and accomodating who went above and beyond. A special mention to Maire-terese who looked after us at breakfast always welcoming and bubbly. Overall I loved my stay at the Ebrington.

As Derry-Londonderry residents, the "missus" and I were in need of a late (ish) lunch a few weeks ago and thought we would pop in to the Ebrington Hotel to try the bar menu. We had been told a number of weeks ago that there was to be a new Vegetarian menu coming soon and as Veggies of long-standing we were interested to see if that was available yet. I don't think it had happened yet as there was only a small number of vegetarian options available at this time. We both had a vegetable tempura starter and I can't remember what the mains were (maybe one could possibly draw conclusions from that) but they were pleasant enough if maybe a little lacking in impact. Drinks from the bar (pint of Italian beer and a small red wine) were fine and reasonably priced. Service from our waiter A.K. was impeccable and we were made to feel valued even though our spend was quite modest on this occasion. We will certainly try the Ebrington again when we hear that the new vegetarian menu becomes available. J.L.S.
